Add-Remove Programs

There have been several occasions when I have removed programs from my computer, but can still see them in my Add/Remove List. The other day, I was on a friend's computer, cleaning up some things and saw he had several pop-up engines installed.

These silly engines popup ads and annoying IE windows randomly during each user session. Other than being annoying, these popups slow down your computer. Which marketing person thought that ad-repitition with popups would sell a product..?? Annoyance does not equal sales!

Anyway, here is a way to clean up your Add/Remove program list:

Start > Run > Type in Regedit
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ \Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Open the "Uninstall" Folder, and you "should" see a list of all the
folders that represent all the programs on your "Add/Remove" list.
Now you can remove (delete) those outdated folders that are on that
list that you cannot remove via the Add/Remove module directly.

Be very careful and be sure the items you choose are ones you
really want deleted.

Also, we don't make any warranties on editing your registry.....but it worked everytime for us. Happy New Year's Cleaning.
